Located on the Mississippi river in Natchez, Mississippi, this downtown redevelopment project created a focal point for the area and a gathering center. The first floor consists of a lobby, large meeting rooms, support spaces, and a pool. The upper four floors are hotel rooms and suites. In all, 80,000 SF of space was constructed on a “Front Street” that presented a brick and stone front, iron-railing balconies, and brick sidewalks. LSA provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design.
LSA has designed
several hotels in the AmeriSuites chain (now owned by Hyatt Place). This hotel, located in the heart of the historic Stockyards district of Fort Worth, has a very distinct style and required thorough
coordination with the interior designer as well as the AmeriSuites staff to make this project a success.
As LSA developed the prototype for this hotel corporation, space coordination, energy use, and cost efficiency were the goals and challenges that faced the design team. Humidity control on the guest room floors, as well as in the pool area became a focus for the mechanical systems. This was accomplished using both packaged and built-up systems controlled by multi –point sensors.
Specialty lighting fixtures were selected and coordinated with the interior decorator to provide the desired effects for the specialized interiors.
This new hotel located in Jonesboro, Arkansas features 79 guest rooms, meeting rooms, an indoor heated pool, business center, guest laundry and support spaces. Latimer, Sommers & Associates coordinated the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design with an Illinois-based architect and development group.
