The Burger Stand

This locally-owned burger restaurant was a tenant finish project located on the retail shell level in one of the previously constructed College Hill Redevelopment Apartment buildings. This provided a design challenge to find a way to effectively implement the proper kitchen exhaust and make up air requirements in an existing building with 2 stories of apartments above. The interior features a trendy lighting design using retro lighting fixtures that the owner collected from old buildings. The space is over 5,000 square feet and is divided into a dining/order/pickup side and a bar side with ping pong tables. LSA provided the mechanical, electrical, lighting and fire alarm design.

Flying Monkey Handcrafted Brews

LSA provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design on this new 1,700 square foot coffee shop owned by PT’s Coffee, a local roasting company that has received national recognition for their quality of coffee. The shop was a retail tenant finish located in the College Hill redevelopment area near Washburn University’s campus. LSA worked closely with the owner and architect during the design process to provide an urban type feel in the front seating areas with a unique lighting package and exposed ductwork. LSA also coordinated electrical and plumbing connections for all of the cutting edge coffee brewing equipment provided in the customer serving and back of house areas.
