USD 501 - Topeka Public Schools
This project for Topeka Public Schools included new air conditioning for all District-maintained buildings as well as the electrical distribution to support it and additional technology. LSA was the lead Project Manager, using structural and architectural consultants for supplemental services.
The time frame was compressed to construct while the buildings were unoccupied, so a fast-track method was used. Equipment was designed, bid and ordered first, the contract documents completed, packaged in manageable projects, and bid in a sequence to allow construction to start when school was dismissed for the summer. This project took four years to complete.
