The library project entailed the renovation of a three story existing facility and construction of a major new addition. Due to the size of the library one main telecommunications room and four intermediate equipment rooms were required. These were linked together with a copper and fiber backbone. The horizontal cable system that provided user connectivity for voice, data and video was then designed using fiber, copper and coax, from each of the respective telecommunication rooms. Detailed construction documents were provided that also included the design for a bonding and grounding system. A phased implementation was needed to accommodate the construction schedule.
