Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library

LSA performed mechanical, electrical, plumbing and telecommunications design for the 100,000 s.f. addition to and renovation of the existing library, resulting in a 176,000 s.f. facility. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning system consists of (2) central hot water heating boilers and (2) packaged air-cooled chillers with hot and chilled water piped respectively to single zone and variable air volume air handling units located in a number of mechanical rooms throughout the building. New plumbing systems, new lighting and power distribution systems, and new data and communications infrastructure was designed and constructed for the facility. Custom designed lighting fixtures were also incorporated into the lighting design.
