Lawrence Arts Center

The Lawrence Art Center includes a full range of arts-related spaces, including performance and community forum spaces, galleries, exhibit spaces, studios, teaching environments and even an arts-based preschool. LSA provided heating, cooling, plumbing, lighting, and power distribution design as well as construction administration.

Boilers for building heating and chillers for building cooling are provided. Hot water and chilled water is piped to air handling units located in mechanical rooms throughout the building.

Bales Organ Recital Hall - University of Kansas

This project involved the design of a new organ recital hall built around a Hellmuth Wolff Opus 40 organ. Bales Organ Recital Hall adjoins with the Lied Center of Kansas located at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Special temperature controls were used to maintain the hall at a constant 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 50% humidity to protect the organ's wood components. Every aspect of the building was also designed to provide optimal acoustics for the organ.
