Kansas Statehouse Preservation and Restoration

This multi-phase, $150 million restoration project involves a complete renovation of the first through fifth floors of the Kansas Statehouse as well as expansion of the basement and a new 550-car, bi-level underground parking garage.

A large part of the LSA’s role in this project is to make the building more functional by providing design and construction administration services for the upgrade of the building’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications systems.

Mechanical spaces, originally located in the basement, have been removed to make way for ground floor office space. New underground mechanical vaults have been added to each of the four quadrants of the building to house the new main mechanical and electrical infrastructure for the building. The estimated completion date of this project is 2012.

Pioneer President's Place

This project involved the renovation of two 1920's school buildings located in Salina, Kansas. Both buildings are listed on the Historic Register and are LEED Certified. The commons area between the two buildings was demolished, leaving two separate buildings with green space between. LSA performed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design within the brick structures. The developer was pleased as the units were fully rented prior to the project's completion.
