Kansas Statehouse Preservation and Restoration
This multi-phase, $150 million restoration project involves a complete renovation of the first through fifth floors of the Kansas Statehouse as well as expansion of the basement and a new 550-car, bi-level underground parking garage.

A large part of the LSA’s role in this project is to make the building more functional by providing design and construction administration services for the upgrade of the building’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications systems.

Mechanical spaces, originally located in the basement, have been removed to make way for ground floor office space. New underground mechanical vaults have been added to each of the four quadrants of the building to house the new main mechanical and electrical infrastructure for the building. The estimated completion date of this project is 2012.
