Eisenhower State Office Building - Kansas Department of Transportation
LSA provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems design for the renovation of the 300,000 square foot, 14 story tower and 4 story west wing of the old SBG building for KDOT offices. Included in this project was the installation of a new 4000 ampere, 480/277 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire switchboard, panel boards, motor control centers and transformers; conversion of the existing 2000 ampere, 120/240 volt Delta system to 120/208 volt, 3 phase 4 wire wye complete with new switchboards, panel boards, motor control center and transformers; and conversion of all existing fluorescent fixtures to T-8 lamps and CRT lens. Lighting is controlled by motion sensors. Temperature controls were changed from pneumatic to DDC. A new fire alarm and security system was designed. Existing dual duct and VAV terminal boxes were replaced. Plumbing fixtures were modified to ADA standards. A new sprinkler system was also designed for the 14 story tower.
