St. Scholastica Women's Residence Hall - Benedictine College

LSA provided the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the new 4 story women's residence hall at Benedictine College. The HVAC system consisted of single-zone geothermal heat pumps to achieve specific temperature and humidity setting in the space. The unit used a ground-source loop for cooling and heating. A 100% OA gas-fired make-up air unit with heat recovery coil and DX coil was used to temper the outside air to achieve a specific temperature and humidity level. Electrical design included a 1200 amp main distribution panel with inline panel boards to serve individual floors. Decorative pendant lighting was used in lounge areas and lobby of the building. Decorative recessed and surface mounted fluorescent lighting was used for the rooms and hallways. Exterior lighting was designed according to campus standards. Copper fintube boilers/storage tanks were used for the domestic hot water system for the building. Total Square Footage: 34,828
